About Us
The Wild Knead was born from a love of slow, intentional baking and a belief that food can connect us back to what truly matters - community, connection, and care. Each loaf is handcrafted with patience and love, using natural fermentation and simple, wholesome ingredients including our 150 year old sourdough starter named “Jolene”. We honor the artistry of sourdough, with every loaf of bread being HAND MIXED while keeping our focus on loving nourishment, artisanal expression, and bringing people together around the table.
Who I Am
I’m Charlie, the hands and heart behind The Wild Knead. As a life and leadership coach turned baker (or as I call it, a “maker”), I see bread as more than food - it’s a grounding ritual and a reminder of life’s beautiful simplicity. It’s one of the most ancient forms of nourishment. Remember the fish and loaves story from the Bible? Yeah, that’s a huge inspiration for this endeavor. For me, baking is both an expression of my soul’s creativity, and community-building. Every loaf, focaccia, or treat that leaves my kitchen carries not only flavor but also intention: to spark joy, connection, and a sense of home.
Our Focus & Commitment
At The Wild Knead, we are committed to quality and integrity. We source thoughtfully, partner with local farms, and create offerings that celebrate the seasons. Every bake is guided by care for our customers and respect for the natural process of fermentation. Our promise is to deliver bread and baked goods that are not only delicious, but also made with honesty and heart.
Our Offerings
We provide weekly sourdough subscriptions, custom orders, and special event bakes ranging from focaccia art to handmade pasta and curated dinners. We also host creative workshops where bread becomes both nourishment and art. Whether you’re picking up a warm loaf for your family, joining a class, or gathering for a meal, The Wild Knead offers more than food - we offer an experience of connection, comfort, and simple pleasure.
Our ingredients
We work with local farmers to source much of the dairy, produce and herbs that go into our products. The flour used is unbleached, additive and preservative free and we shop local for everything else. As much as we can make from scratch, we do our best to ensure that what you’re being served is as close to home as it can get.
