Rooted in the Wild Ways of the Kitchen

Artisanal sourdough, traditional food skills, and gatherings that bring people back to the table.

Who We Are

The Wild Knead is an artisanal baking wholesale and education company rooted in the belief that some of life’s greatest joys are the simplest ones: breaking bread together, learning with our hands, and gathering in community.
Founded in South Delta, British Columbia by baker and facilitator Charlie Holiday, The Wild Knead brings people back to traditional kitchen skills our ancestors practiced for generations: sourdough baking, fermenting, pickling, butter making, and other timeless crafts that nourish both body and spirit.
Through handcrafted sourdough goods, immersive baking classes, and intimate gatherings, our work celebrates the beauty of slowing down and creating something meaningful with your hands.
At its heart, The Wild Knead is about more than bread. It’s about reconnecting to food, to community, and to the quiet joy of making something real.

The Story of The Wild Knead

For most of my adult life, I lived in big cities where I was always moving quickly, building businesses, and spending fifteen years as a leadership and legacy coach helping others pursue their dreams.

But somewhere along the way, I realized I had been guiding people toward the very life I had quietly been postponing for myself.

I longed for something simpler.

A slower rhythm.

A life rooted in community, creativity, and nature.

So I began again.

What started with two loaf pans in my kitchen—folk music playing, windows open, flour on my hands and bare feet on the floor—quickly became something deeper than baking. It was healing. It was grounding. It was a return to something ancient and human.

I began sharing loaves with friends and neighbors, and soon the joy of feeding people took on a life of its own.

Today, that simple beginning has grown into The Wild Knead—an artisanal baking wholesale and education company serving the South Delta community through handcrafted sourdough goods, baking classes, and partnerships with beloved local businesses like Schoolhouse Farm and Superior Fish Market.

Every loaf we make carries the spirit of that original intention: to create something honest with our hands, share it generously, and gather people around the table.

The Wild Knead is a reminder that it’s never too late to begin again—to return to what matters, reclaim joy, and build a life rooted in purpose and connection.
